What is a LED batten?

What are the advantages of LED battens ?

Classic fluorescent tubes generate heat which means energy is wasted. Most fluorescent tubes are also made of glass which is far from ideal in public spaces.

LED battens, on the other hand, are far more efficient, for starters. They also have a number of other advantages over traditional fluorescent tubes.
