Did you know that Ledvance's HQL LED P was first Osram HQL LED Pro?
The Osram brand is slowly going to disappear and be replaced by Ledvance, the company Osram has been part of for some time. However, this has no consequences for you! For instance, the Osram LED HQL Pro bulbs have only been given a new look (Ledvance HQL LED P), but the product and performance remain exactly the same. As a bonus, you will benefit from the introduction of two new types of Ledvance HQL LED lamps: HQL LED filament and NAV LED filament.
What is the difference between the Ledvance HQL LED bulbs?
Ledvance has 3 types of HQL LED bulbs in its range, all of which are available in 2700K and 4000K variants. The lifespan is in line with L70B50.
Ledvance HQL LED P - With efficiency up to 146 lm/W and surge protection up to 6kV, this performance class Ledvance HQL LED guarantees a safe and powerful lighting solution for numerous application areas, making it the perfect replacement for conventional mercury vapour lamps. Moreover, its IP65 dust- and water-tightness makes the light source suitable for outdoor use, as long as the fixture itself is also suitable for this purpose. The Ledvance HQL LED P lamps, with an E27 (ENEC certified) or an E40 fitting, have a long life of up to 60,000 hours. They operate directly on mains current (230V) or with a conventional control gear (CCG).
Ledvance HQL LED Filament - These frosted glass bulbs with a 360° beam angle show little difference compared to traditional HQL bulbs, except that they are up to 77% more economical. So you can easily install them in existing fixtures; directly on mains power or with a conventional ballast. The value class HQL LED series has an efficiency of up to 167 lm/W and is perfect for street and site lighting. The IP65 light sources last up to 25,000 hours and are also low in weight. In addition, they have up to 2kV surge protection.
Ledvance NAV LED Filament - Although the shape is the same as sodium vapour lamps, the NAV LED filament shows impressive efficiency of up to 190 lm/W, while consuming 63% less energy. This value class NAV LED tube bulb has 360° light distribution and a lifetime of 25,000 hours. Good to know, is that the lightweight LED fits into existing fixtures (conventional ballast or directly on 230V), has an IP65 protection rating and surge protection up to 2kV. And all at an attractive price.
Do you prefer an HQL LED similar to a LED high-bay?
Ledvance HID high-bay universal LED E40 - This light source is as easy to fit as any E40 LED, but then has the look of a high-bay. With a high light output of 14,000lm to 25,000lm, the IP40 light source is ideal for industrial environments and storage facilities. You will enjoy the best energy efficiency if you connect the HQL LED directly to mains power (230V), but the light source is also compatible with a conventional ballast. Please note that this Ledvance LED may be heavier than the old bulb. Therefore, check that the fixture can support the weight and always install it with the supplied safety cord. After installation, you will enjoy 50,000 hours of quality light with no warm-up time, and for which a surge protection up to 4kV guaranteed.
