|
Energy efficiency class | G |
i
The European Union has drawn up guidelines for energy labels for lighting. The energy efficiency of bulbs and luminaires is expressed in classes (A to G). Energy label A is the most efficient and energy label G the least. The energy label is also stated on the packaging of a product.
|
Energy efficiency class old | A | |
Average Lifetime (h) | 300 |
Technology | Incandescent |
i
The technology indicates the operating base of a light source. The most well-known and energy-efficient example is LED. Other techniques include Halogen, gas discharge, TL (fluorescent) and the light bulb.
|
---|---|---|
Wattage | 150 |
i
The wattage indicates how much energy a light source consumes. With LED lighting, the wattage is considerably lower than with conventional lighting. LED lamps with a higher wattage generally also have a higher light intensity (number of lumens).
|
Voltage (V) | 220-240 |
i
Lighting with a voltage of 220-240 Volt can be connected directly to the mains. Lighting with a different mains voltage (12 Volt and 24 Volt) requires an (electronic) transformer.
|
Dimmable | Dimmable |
i
When you dim lights, the full power does not have to be used. You therefore save extra on energy costs. Dimmable lamps can also be used to create an extra cosy atmosphere. Keep in mind that you need a LED dimmer to dim LED lights.
|
Cap / Base | E27 (Edison screw) |
i
The cap/base of a bulb is the part that connects it to the socket in the fixture. In Ireland, B22 (Bayonet) caps/bases are still the most popular, although E27 (Edison screw) caps/bases are becoming increasingly popular. GU10 is the most common cap/base for spotlights. Check which cap/base you need carefully as many other types are also available.
|
Colour temperature (Kelvin) | Infrared |
i
Light colour is also known as colour temperature and is expressed in Kelvin (K). You can choose from:
|
Colour Code | Infrared |
i
The colour code is a combination of colour rendering (CRI) and light colour (Kelvin). The first number indicates the colour rendering (1 = very poor colour rendering, 9 = maximum colour fastness). The second and third number contains the light colour. Example: the colour code 830 consists of good colour rendering (8) and warm white light (3000K).
|
Colour Rendering (Ra) | 90-99 |
i
Colour rendering is also known as Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and indicates the extent to which a light source reproduces colours, compared to the actual colours in daylight. Products with a good (80-89 Ra) or excellent (90-99 Ra) colour rendering show minimal deviations in the colour spectrum.

Product description:
The Philips PAR38 Healthcare IR 150W E27 230V Red is an infrared incandescent reflector lamp designed for the treatment of muscle pain, rheumatic ailments and sports injuries. These lamps generate localised and controllable heat through which a variety of bodily and medical impairments can be treated in the form of heat therapy. In addition, this form of lamp heat therapy has been proven to be beneficial in speeding up the healing time of wounds and injuries, improving blood circulation, encouraging the transport of beneficial compounds and providing effective pain relief.
The infrared technology within these lamps produces a wavelength spectrum which peaks at 1000 nm. This allows for deep-penetration of the top layers of the skin with gentle warmth, enhancing circulation and providing a number of health benefits.
The PAR38 pressed hard glass shape includes a filament which creates a narrower and more concentrated beam, while concentric rings in the front glass ensure that the heat can be controlled directionally. This lamp also includes an internal reflector which is fully aluminized, meaning that 100% of the generated heat leaves through the front of the bulb for increased energy efficiency. The red lacquered glass finish eliminates visual glare and creates a soft and calming ambient glow.
These lamps can be easily used in a variety of fixtures due to the E27 socket type, and in combination with any suitable equipment intended for heat therapy.
Applications:
- Healthcare: muscular pain, rheumatism, lumbago neuralgia, common colds, injury recovery, pain relief, etc
